Job Description

Responsible for overseeing Edwards Lifesciences' operations within the country, ensuring strategic alignment with regional and global objectives. This executive role is responsible for driving top-line growth. Contributes to sales strategy definition, defines sales targets of team therefore is accountable for driving sustainable business growth through the formulation and execution of commercial strategies. Effective leadership of cross-functional teams, and operational excellence. The Country Leader will serve as the primary representative of the company to local authorities, professional associations, and other key stakeholders, ensuring regulatory compliance and actively enhancing Edwards' corporate reputation within the Mexican market.

How you’ll make an impact:

Strategic Leadership & Commercial Execution

Collaborate with the country’s commercial organization (dotted-line reporting) to align business strategies with Edwards’ global and regional objectives.
Drive the commercialization of Edwards’ products and services across Mexico, ensuring market penetration and sustainable growth.
Anticipate, identify, and interpret market trends and translate insights into actionable strategies for the business and sales teams.

Risk Management & Strategic Initiatives

Identify business risks and lead the development and execution of complex strategies, including market access and reimbursement initiatives.
Engage in negotiations with internal and external stakeholders to support strategic business objectives.

Talent development

Influence, mentor and support the development of a high-performing commercial team,  fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Build and execute robust talent development plans aligned with the functional growth strategies of the organization.
Promote employee engagement and uphold Edwards’ Credo and values across all levels of the local organization.

Operational Oversight & Business Support

Partner with functional leads to support country-wide operations including finance, bids and tenders, general services, customer service, and technical support.
Ensure operational effectiveness and compliance with internal policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
Provide timely and accurate statutory reporting (e.g., P&L, balance sheet) and lead local audits (finance, quality).

Stakeholder Engagement & Corporate Representation

Represent Edwards before external stakeholders including government authorities, healthcare providers, payers, and national health associations.
Lead and implement the local corporate communications strategy, including internal newsletters and employee engagement initiatives.
Safeguard the company’s brand and reputation through active participation in corporate responsibility and social impact activities
Other incidental duties

What you’ll need:

Bachelor's Degree in related field Experience as a business unit manager/ general manager overseeing cross functional areas at country level and skill levels exceeding the requirements of the Manager Required
Other: in MBA, PharmD, PhD, MD with a Fellowship in Outcome Research or Pharmacoeconomics Experience developing and executing complex strategies at country level. Preferred
Experience in conducting health economics, patient-reported outcomes, retrospective data analyses, epidemiology or health services research projects highly Preferred
Experience developing pharma/health-economic models, either for publication or for interactive use with customers 


What else we look for:

Demonstrated track record in people management required
Experience working in a regulated industry preferred
Proven successful project management leadership skills
Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and related tools and systems
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills including high discretion/judgment in decision making
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
Ability to read, write and speak English and local language
Expert understanding of product lifecycle and implications for all procedures while identifying applications of functional knowledge and existing methodologies to complex problems
Expert understanding of related aspects of all functional areas processes and/or systems within their country
Expert knowledge of financial mechanism that relates to budgeting, pricing & reimbursement
Demonstrated ability to manage one or more teams and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations
Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of country to the business
Strict attention to detail
Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment
Frequently interacts with internal and external management and senior-level customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and/or contractual clarifications
Lead briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives
Require the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship
Dedicated to quality client service and pro-active and responsive to client needs.
Develop peer, cross functional and cross business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness.
Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams to successfully implement global enterprise systems and related solutions
Develop relationships and leverage them to influence change
Support and solicit input from team members at all levels
Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
Anticipates, identifies and interprets market trends and implications, applying this knowledge to management of the team and the broader business
Recognized as expert resource based on a comprehensive understanding of all external factors (financial, regulatory, economic) and how they impact Edwards and its customers
