How you will make an impact:
Developing, maintaining and continuously improving MEMS sensor test solutions initially for R&D and ultimately qualifying to production
Working with sensors R&D team to define characterization requirements and support execution, including developing novel test-stands and instrumentation software for R&D DOE
Working with sensors R&D team to support timely execution of characterization requests and compiling diligent characterization reports
Ensuring flawless hardware and software installations and subsequent execution of calibration protocols to ensure quality of characterization results
Leading equipment procurement/documentation/maintenance and assisting with facilities planning for sensors R&D team
Identify, evaluate, manage, and provide guidance to suppliers, including establishing tolerances and defining acceptance criteria for suppliers
Assign R&D support tasks; give instruction to technicians on conducting tests; train technicians and provide feedback; and coordinate technician work
Evaluate input and form a technical recommendation including designing parts, components and subsystems
Train, coach, and guide lower level employees on routine procedures

What you'll need (Required):
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering/Physics or other Scientific field with 4 years' experience -OR- Master's Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering/Physics or other Scientific field with 3 years' experience -OR- Ph.D. or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering/Physics or other Scientific field
Hands-on experience developing environmental testing setup and fixtures for sensors under thermal, vibration, and electrical tests
Programming experience in LabVIEW, C/C++ and Python/MATLAB
What else we look for (Preferred):
Experience with electrical test equipment such as impedance and parameter analyzers, oscilloscopes, probe stations, and data acquisition systems
Experience troubleshooting, debugging and performing failure analysis for MEMS sensors
Familiarity with material/device characterization using optical, electrical, mechanical methods
Experience of calibration methodologies and best practices
Familiarity with advanced surface science methodologies (SEM, Auger, FIB)
Basic knowledge of statistical analysis
Strong documentation, communication (e.g., written and verbal) and interpersonal relationship skills including consultative and relationship management skills
Previous experience working with lab/industrial equipment required (if applicable)
Strong problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills
Substantial understanding of processes and equipment used in assigned work
Good leadership skills and ability to influence change
Knowledge of and adherence to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to department clean room medical device manufacturing
Strict attention to detail
Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
Must be able to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental teams and key contact representing the organization on contracts or projects
Ability to interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations

For Illinois (IL), the base pay range for this position is $106,000 to $149,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
