Multiple studies highlight the connection between intraoperative hypotension and postoperative risk.

A growing body of research is demonstrating an association between intraoperative hypotensive events* and increased acute kidney injury (AKI), myocardial injury.1-3 Studies also show an increased risk of mortality associated with hypotension after noncardiac surgery.4,5 Understanding the interconnected dynamics can play a vital role in improving patient safety.

*A hypotensive event is defined as MAP <65 mmHg for a duration of at least one minute.
