How you’ll make an impact:

  • Supervise technologists to ensure failures in equipment are appropriately repaired and ensure corrective actions are taken, including conducting and writing impact assessment reports of incidents, exception work orders (EWOs), Equipment Non-conformance Reports (ENCRs), and Out of Tolerance (OOTs)

  • Supervise the review and ensure team members perform check list actions for all equipment in compliance with established work instructions and adherence with SOPs, including recording traceable information on device history records and enters information into appropriate system

  • Transfer equipment knowledge to team members to improve troubleshooting skills, as well as anticipate issues that may occur, and propose solutions and lead the implementation of planned and unplanned downtime and keep production on schedule

  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement and optimal operations

  • Provide feedback and/or conduct performance reviews, including resolving performance issues

  • Oversee the maintenance activities and delivery on team performance metrics

  • Participate in improvement projects

  • Identify issues, review capacity requirements and maintenance procedures for accuracy and provide recommendations for improvement

  • Ensure employees are trained, certified, and adhere to EH&S policies and procedures including OHSA regulations

  • Other incidental duties


What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electromechanical, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electronics Engineering. (Required)

  • At least 1 year of experience in processes related to preventive and corrective maintenance of manufacturing equipment and systems in regulated environments, as well as experience supervising personnel. (Required)

  • Intermediate level of English proficiency. (Preferred)

  • Knowledge of maintenance management systems (Maximo). (Preferred)

  • Availability to work Shift B: Monday through Friday, from 2:25 p.m. to 10:25 p.m.

What else we look for (preferred):

  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite with working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, preferably JDE

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills; possessing strong collaboration skills in partnering with cross functional stakeholders in order to achieve objectives

  • Full understanding of maintenance procedures and related equipment

  • Ability to supervise/lead employees in a maintenance environment

  • Ability to analyze and identify potential downtime improvements

  • Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment

  • Ability to lead teams, provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations

  • Knowledge of and adherence to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to department clean room medical device manufacturing

  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing and Good Documentation Practices supporting a medical device environment

  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and Six Sigma

  • Supervise employees within the department

  • Interface and communicate with outside vendors for work to be performed

  • Participate on cross-functional teams Engineering, management, Regulatory, Quality, HR, Planning for the development of cohesive production operations

  • May represent the organization to outside contacts, e.g., vendors, suppliers, contractors, staffing agencies

  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
