Edwards Lifesciences is looking for a Sr Supervisor for the Pilot Operations Tech team within our Global Supply Chain (GSC) business. This person will function as a core team member across all Pilot Operations projects. This position will be responsible for managing the workload of a team of Maintenance/Engineering Technicians and Technologists to meet the diverse requirements of Pilot projects, provide overall resource allocation, and anticipate future needs. The Senior Supervisor of the Pilot Operations Tech team will also provide guidance and facilitate the growth and development of the technicians and technologists.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Participating in cross-functional core team meetings, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 meetings.
  • Leading team meetings, including Tier 1 meetings.
  • Ensuring failures in equipment are appropriately documented and repaired.
  • Strategizing appropriate staffing support to meet each development project’s needs.
  • Executing cross-training plans as necessary to meet the needs of the department and project teams.
  • Partnering with employees and manager to create and execute Individual Development Plans.
  • Accountable for management of assets and spare parts.
  • Accountable for compliance to all quality system requirements, including quality metrics of staff reported out in monthly QDR (e.g., PM timeliness).
  • Accountable for ensuring all employees are properly trained in the activities being performed.
  • Accountable for employees following all necessary Environmental Health and Safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What you'll need (Required):

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in related field (e.g, industrial, chemical, electrical, mechanical),
  • 4 years previous related experience required (in-depth technical knowledge and experience in assigned work area, substantial experience in related manufacturing, quality and/or product development engineering with skill levels exceeding the requirements of the Supervisor II).

What else we look for (Preferred):

  • Experience working in a medical device industry Preferred.
  • Ability to lead teams, provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Experience working in multi-cultural teams with cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills; possessing strong collaboration skills in partnering with cross functional stakeholders to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to provide basic coaching in the following areas:
    • Asset management software (Maximo).
    • Problem solving methodology, root cause analysis, and GDP (Good Documentation Practices).
    • Understanding procedures, drawings, schematics.
    • Statistical techniques.
    • Drafting technical documents such as IQ protocols and reports.
  • Ability to use a wide range of manufacturing, test, development, or diagnostic equipment; use tools such as measuring equipment.
  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control.

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.

For California, the base pay range for this position is $106,000 to $149,000 (highly experienced).
