The Advanced Innovation & Technology team is focused on innovating the future of Structural Heart Disease through early-stage needs finding and development and strategic capability building. As Manager, Strategy – Advanced Innovation & Technology, you will play a central role in running the strategic planning process and helping manage the device portfolio across Advanced Innovation & Technology.

Position Summary:  This role is focused on strategic planning, portfolio management, and executive decision support. You will work closely with AI&T leadership and cross-functional partners to help drive portfolio reviews, synthesize strategic insights, inform prioritization decisions, and translate complex inputs into clear recommendations for leadership. The role may also support Digital & AI Strategy initiatives, as needed, as part of the broader strategy agenda.

The Manager, Strategy – Advanced Innovation & Technology will report to the Senior Manager, Strategy – Advanced Innovation & Technology and will work closely with AI&T leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to:

Based on the collaborative nature of this role, this position is onsite at our corporate headquarters in Irvine, California.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Drive the annual strategic planning process for the Advanced Innovation & Technology portfolio, including development of planning materials, key analyses, timelines, and leadership discussions

  • Help manage the device portfolio by supporting portfolio reviews, informing prioritization decisions, and developing executive-ready materials that translate complex clinical, technical, competitive, and strategic inputs into clear recommendations for leadership

  • Conduct strategic analyses to support portfolio decisions, including assessment of external trends, competitive dynamics, and key risks and tradeoffs

  • Partner with stakeholders across strategy, R&D, finance, and other functions to align inputs and support high-quality portfolio decision-making

  • Support Digital & AI Strategy initiatives, as needed, as part of the broader strategy agenda

  • Contribute to other strategic initiatives that fall under the scope of Advanced Innovation & Technology leadership

  • Perform other incidental duties as assigned

What you'll need (required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific, engineering, quantitative, business, or related field with 8 years of related work experience, or MBA or equivalent with 6 years of related experience or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria required

  • Direct experience in strategy, management consulting, corporate strategy, or a similar role

What else we look for (preferred):

  • Experience developing structured strategic analyses and translating findings into clear recommendations for leadership

  • Experience working cross-functionally and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop executive-level presentations and written recommendations

  • Excellent PowerPoint skills

  • Experience in the medical device, biotech, or healthcare sectors

  • Knowledge of Structural Heart Disease

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including strong Excel skills

  • Effective synthesis and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to leadership audiences via PowerPoint

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Self-starter who takes initiative and drives work forward with limited oversight

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • Comfort with ambiguity and incomplete information in strategic decision-making

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and organizational levels

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

  • Travel up to 25%

Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others, as well as protecting the environment and preventing pollution under their span of influence/control.

For California (CA), the base pay range for this position is $126,000 to $178,000 (highly experienced).
