Every Heartbeat Matters (EHM), focuses on improving the lives of structural heart patients around the world who are facing barriers to care. We are committed to support underserved patients through collaboration with our charitable partners, funding from our foundation, donation of Edwards’ technologies, and pro bono talent of employees.
We launched EHM in 2014 with big aspirations and by our first milestone in 2020, the EHM community impacted the global burden of heart valve disease by educating, screening and treating over 1.7 million underserved people, surpassing the initial goal of 1 million. Based on the accumulated knowledge and experience on how to have the greatest impact on patients, Edwards is focused on its next phase of EHM.
We will improve the lives of 2.5 million additional underserved structural heart and critical care patients by the end of 2025.

Defining underserved
We identify underserved patients as those who have a health disparity as defined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and lack awareness of, or access to, medically appropriate healthcare.
Program and reporting guidelines
Every Heartbeat Matters measures the impact of donations and relies on input from each partner following program and reporting guidelines. When we see our results together, we are able to best understand our successes and opportunities to improve lives even more.
Technology donations
We partner with MAP International to offer donated Edwards technologies to physicians performing humanitarian care outside the U.S. Through this partnership, we also offer patient care packages, assembled by employees, to underserved patients around the world.
