Clinician-led symposia

Thoracic Anesthesia Symposium (TAS) – Predictive Hemodynamic Monitoring: Application in Thoracic Surgery

Friday, April 23rd at 12:45–1:45 p.m. CST

calendar 12:45–1:45 p.m. CST

Description

Thoracic surgery has many unique challenges that limit the routine use of advanced hemodynamic monitoring commonly applied in other surgical procedures1. Acumen Hypotension Prediction Index (HPI) software is a first-of-its-kind technology that provides clinicians with information regarding the likelihood of a patient trending toward a hypotensive event,* along with insights to understand the root cause to inform a potential course of action for your patient. The use of Acumen HPI software during thoracic surgery will be explored through a review of one center's experience applying the technology.

To attend this session, add it to your agenda from the TAS program.

*. A hypotensive event is defined as MAP <65 mmHg for a duration of at least one minute.

From Noninvasive to Predictive: Exploring Individualized Approaches to Hemodynamic Monitoring in Cardiac Procedures

Saturday, April 24th at 12:00–1:00 p.m. CST

calendar 12:45–1:45 p.m. CST

Description

Join us for an update on the current applications of advanced hemodynamic monitoring in cardiac procedures. This session will explore the impact of intraoperative hypotension and explore the shift from prescriptive to predictive monitoring for managing hypotension. We will review the latest in minimally and noninvasive monitoring technologies that provide insights into blood pressure, blood flow and tissue oximetry to guide individualized care. Case studies, expert panel discussion and live Q&A will be used to explore the application of these latest technologies.

To attend this session, add it to your agenda from the SCA program.
