The protection of your personal data is important to Edwards Lifesciences (Asia) Pte Ltd (“Edwards”). Please read this document carefully as it contains important information about how Edwards will/may collect, use, disclose and process personal data that you provide or that Edwards possesses about you as part of the recruitment and hiring process. Your signature at the end of this document will constitute your consent and agreement.

In this document, the term “personal data” means data, whether true or not, about you where you can be identified either (a) from that data; or (b) from that data and other information to which Edwards has or is likely to have access.

1. Edwards will/may collect, use, disclose and/or process your personal data for one or more of the following purposes (the “Purposes”):

a) facilitating, supporting processing, dealing with, administering, managing, maintaining and/or terminating your application for employment with Edwards, whether or not you are ultimately offered employment;
b) facilitating communication with you or your nominated contacts in an emergency;
c) dealing with, administering and/or managing your use of infrastructure or facilities that may be provided by Edwards during the recruitment and hiring process, including but not limited to provision of information technology;
d) complying with applicable law, regulations, guidelines or governmental requirements of any relevant jurisdiction, including any immigration-related matters, whether in Singapore or elsewhere;
e) use of surveillance cameras for security reasons in Edwards’ premises;
f) responding to legal process, pursuing legal rights and remedies or defending against claims or litigation; and/or
g) conducting human resources research, analysis or development activities, including benchmarking or assessing competitiveness of compensation packages.

2. Your personal data may be held or stored locally or globally, whether within or outside of Singapore.

3. As part of the recruitment and hiring process, Edwards may need to disclose your personal data to third parties, whether located within or outside Singapore, for one or more of the above Purposes, and you hereby acknowledge, agree and consent to Edwards’ transfer of your information. These third parties may include:

(a) Edwards’ associated or affiliated organisations or related corporations;
(b) Agents, contractors, or third-party service providers who process your information on Edwards’ behalf as part of recruiting and hiring efforts, including but not limited to any of Edwards’ service providers, travel agencies that might arrange travel related to recruiting and hiring, agents that might assist with reimbursement of expenses, and/or public and governmental authorities if required.

4. Edwards may retain, for a reasonable period of time, certain personal data of applicants who are not offered employment or who decline an employment offer.
