A highly accurate, precise, and tailorable tissue oximetry system for continuous monitoring*

The ForeSight Elite tissue oximetry system continuously monitors oxygen saturation, noninvasively. The ForeSight Elite system is now available on the HemoSphere advanced monitoring platform, giving you a comprehensive view of tissue oximetry and advanced hemodynamics on one monitor so you can ensure your patient is adequately perfused.

*Delivered at a variation range of approximately +/- 3.05% at one standard deviation for cerebral StO2 measurements using the larger sensor.
Smart. Innovation. The confidence of knowing.

Knowing your patient's brain is monitored, knowing your intervention is supported by data, and knowing the numbers on the screen are accurate.

ForeSight Elite system

  • Incorporates five precise wavelengths of near infrared light (NIRS) enabling highly accurate performance
  • Compensates for patient tissue properties and the effects of melanin due to a thoughtfully validated and patented algorithm
  • Sensors accommodate anatomical differences of each unique patient
  • Offers pediatric-specific mode
  • Available on HemoSphere advanced monitoring platform so you can view tissue oximetry and advanced hemodynamics on one monitor

Reliable, real-time monitoring of surgical patients provides decision support for detecting and managing hypoxic events as soon as they occur.

Accuracy and precision

ForeSight Elite sensors deliver accurate performance and precision in tissue oximetry

With ForeSight Elite system, you gain access to accurate readings that account for a range of tissue and skin tone, as well as oxygenation insights you can act on. Delivered at a variation range of approximately +/- 3.05%*

*At one standard deviation for cerebral StO2 measurements using the larger sensor

5 wavelengths of near infrared light (NIRS) for effective tissue interrogation

ForeSight Elite sensor technology allows for effective tissue interrogation. By incorporating 5 wavelengths of near-infrared light to analyze tissue, ForeSight Elite system provides a broad spectrum of NIRS wavelengths (685, 730, 770, 810, 870nm). This technology allows for effective tissue interrogation at points where oxygenated and deoxygenated hemoglobin are more greatly distinguished for highly accurate performance.

For accurate cerebral tissue oximetry monitoring, it is essential that near-infrared light penetrates at an appropriate depth.

ForeSight Elite sensor design generates a depth of light penetration up to 2.5 cm
Studies show that adults often have skin-to-grey matter distances of greater than 2.0 cm6

Tailored to patients

ForeSight Elite system is tailored to accommodate anatomical differences

ForeSight Elite sensors are designed to provide the appropriate depth of NIRS penetration to accommodate the unique anatomy of adults over
40 kg to the tiniest neonates and patients in between.

Thoughtfully validated algorithm

ForeSight Elite system uses a patented algorithm to interpret a patient's tissue oxygen saturation. This algorithm eliminates the need for a pre-induction baseline as it calibrates on the patient to account for:

  • Specific tissue beds (cerebral tissue and skeletal muscle sites)
  • Skin pigmentation and melanin

ForeSight Elite sensors come in multiple sizes that feature different depths of light penetration

ForeSight Elite has 4 distinct sensors to be used in cerebral and non-cerebral locations such as legs, abdomen, flank, shoulders and arms.

Pediatric-specific mode

ForeSight Elite tissue oximetry system has a pediatric-specific mode that is tailored to account for the individual anatomical differences between neonates, infants, and children. The algorithm locates and factors out effects of meconium on oximetry readings to deliver accurate oxygen saturation metrics. Both pediatric sensors feature cushioned patient interfaces to protect delicate skin and CoolLight technology to reduce heat generation and transfer to tissue under the sensor.

Risks of cerebral and tissue desaturations

Cerebral desaturations can be serious and may lead to complications

Studies show that desaturations occur in up to 80% of certain procedures, creating a need for reliable technology to detect them.

The risks associated with desaturations include:

  • Increased post-operative nausea and vomiting
  • Cognitive dysfunction
  • Extended time on mechanical ventilation
  • Extra days spent in the hospital or ICU

Having a comprehensive picture of oxygen delivery and consumption may allow you to reduce the clinical implications of prolonged desaturations.
