Employee volunteerism

We aspire to have 100 percent of our employees participate in at least one philanthropic activity per year. To help accomplish this, we launched our Strengthen Our Community employee volunteer program to create an avenue for our employees to directly contribute to the betterment of the community while reinforcing Edwards’ culture of helping people.

Hoag Hospital Heart Screenings

During the Cinco de Mayo weekend, Hoag Hospital partnered with Edwards employee volunteers to screen underserved residents of Santa Ana, California for heart valve disease as part of its Every Heartbeat Matters program.

OC Heart Walk

Approximately 900 Edwards employees, family members and friends participated in the 2015 OC Heart Walk. Edwards’ “choir” had the honor of kicking the walk off by singing the National Anthem. Together we raised $60,000 to support AHA’s research and education to prevent and treat heart disease and stroke.

Joy Jars

One of Edwards’ patients, nine-year-old Max Page, spearheaded an effort to bring “Joy Jars” full of toys and activities to kids fighting heart disease and partnered with our non-profit partner, Mended Little Hearts, to distribute them during National Heart Month last February. Edwards employees supported this effort by assembling the 5,000 Joy Jars for the campaign and distributing some of them in the Dominican Republic.
