The Edwards Lifesciences Fund
At Edwards Lifesciences, we are dedicated to providing innovative solutions for people fighting cardiovascular disease. Each day, more than 5,600 Edwards employees are working as trusted partners with customers, colleagues, and patients – creating a community unified in its mission to improve the quality of life around the world.
As part of this commitment, we provide philanthropic support for important health-related and community causes, and in 2004 established The Edwards Lifesciences Fund, a donor-advised fund managed through the Vanguard Charitable Endowment Program.
The Edwards Lifesciences Fund was established to support advancements in knowledge and improvements in quality of life, focusing primarily upon cardiovascular disease and the communities where our employees live and work. In order to receive a grant from The Edwards Lifesciences Fund, applicants must demonstrate 501(c)(3) tax status, and be public charities as defined by Section 509(a)(1), (2), or (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Mission The Edwards Lifesciences Fund shall support advancements in knowledge and improvements in quality of life, focusing primarily upon cardiovascular disease and the communities where our employees live and work.
Goals & Objectives The goals and objectives of The Edwards Lifesciences Fund are to:
- Expand awareness of cardiovascular disease, its prevention and treatment;
- Enhance support and access to care for under-served cardiovascular patients;
- Support research and education to increase expertise and innovation in treating cardiovascular disease;
- Establish trusted partnerships to further leverage impact;
- Support opportunities for Edwards and our employees to contribute to our communities;
- Operate consistently with the principles of Edwards Lifesciences’ Credo.
The application deadline for the 2007 grant was July 31, 2007 and the 2007 grantees were announced on November 12, 2007.
