Q: At what temperature do I store Edwards tissue valves?

A: Store between 10ºC and 25ºC (55-70ºF). Edwards tissue heart valves are shipped with high and low temperature sensors to determine upon receipt if the valve has been exposed to extreme temperatures during transit. View the outline of how to read the temperature sensors. Contact Technical Services if you've received your product and are unsure about the integrity of your shipment as it pertains to temperature.


Q: What kind of solution is used for storing Edwards tissue heart valves?

A: 0.625% buffered glutaraldehyde


Q: Are anticoagulants or prophylactic antibiotics needed after a patient has an annuloplasty device or prosthetic heart valve implanted? Which type of anticoagulants or prophylactic antibiotics should be used?

A: Anticoagulant and prophylactic antibiotic recommendations can be found under the Warnings section of the product insert or directions for use enclosed with the device. The appropriate anticoagulation or prophylactic antibiotic therapy must be determined by the physician on an individual basis.
