Edwards Bovine Pericardial Patch
Designed to provide optimal assistance in pericardial closure, the Edwards bovine pericardial patch utilizes proven heart valve tissue which has demonstrated exceptional resilience and long-term durability.1 This easy-to-handle and convenient-to-use patch is offered in a large patch size (10 cm x 15 cm) to allow individual tailoring to any configuration.

Features
  • Bovine pericardium — contains a high amount of layered structural protein2 with elastic properties that allow conformity to challenging anatomy3
  • Rectangular 10 cm x 15 cm sheet — accommodates various anatomic challenges and is easily tailored to any desired configuration
  • Tissue thickness — each pericardial sheet is measured six times for consistent and uniform thickness properties
  • Anticalcification technology — proprietary XenoLogiX treatment* reduces potential sites for calcification initiation
Benefits
  • Reliability — bovine pericardium measured to a consistent nominal 0.5 mm thickness provides dependable suture4 retention as well as ideal handling characteristics5
  • Anticalcification technology — proprietary XenoLogiX treatment* significantly reduces calcification in pericardium over glutaraldehyde controls in animal models6
  • Convenience — large patch size is off-the-shelf ready with a short 6 minute rinse time
  • Neutralogic fixation — stress-free bath of buffered glutaraldehyde for increased tissue stability and reduced antigenicity
